With some restrictions, of course. A judge decided that Little Nicky can tool around in a car again as long as he follows a couple of basic rules (no, I’m not talking about those pesky speed limit rules and those limiting don’t-drink-and-drive rules):

Nick was just granted a driving permit for business-related excursions — meaning he can only drive from home to work and back again … no exceptions.

Last May, a judge ordered Hogan’s license to be revoked for three years because of his 2007 crash that left his buddy, John Graziano, with serious brain damage.

Well. It’s nice to know that there is a judge who sticks to his ruling, no matter if the client is a pseudo-celeb or not.

Oh wait.

And what is this “business-related excursions” thing? What sort of business could Little Nicky possibly be doing? Well, he did go to Sundance with his mommy and her boy-toy, and a quick search turned up that he hosted a fundraiser over the weekend. But other than that, he’s just been working on his tan and exercising his deliciously keen fashion sense.

Hey, maybe he’s finally getting that real-allity show going that he spoke to his dad about. You know, The New Nick:

NICK: Will you work on that real-ality [?] deal… [he pronounces it "real allity"]

TERRY: Yeah.

NICK: …for me and get that thing lined up, so the minute I walk out of wherever I walk out of, it’s there, boom?

TERRY: Can you do it while you’re on probation?

NICK: Yeah, of course.

TERRY: Yeah. Okay…you wanna do it with Pink Snickers [?] or you wanna do it with someone else?

NICK: I wanna do it where I’ll make the most money.

TERRY: Well then, you need to do it with me, Jason [Hervey], and Eric [Bischoff].

NICK: Okay.

TERRY: You know if I’m producing the show I won’t screw you, you know that.

NICK: Yeah. Of course.

TERRY: I’ll getcha every–I’ll make you an owner.

NICK: Yeah. I…

TERRY: You’ll own the show.

NICK: Yeah.

TERRY: Y’know. So let me get to work on that with Eric tonight, he’s here too.

NICK: Okay, cool.

TERRY: So dude, we can get that pulled off, dude…

NICK: Real-ality.

TERRY: The new Nick, we’ll call it “The New Nick” or something.

NICK: The New Nick.

TERRY: Or something. We’ll have to come up with a good name. Think of a good name.

NICK: I’ll be thinking of a good name.

TERRY: The, the…

NICK: It’ll be real-ality, how I’m getting back on my feet, and, uh, how I’m recovering after this, celebrity outta jail.

I’ll just leave it at that…I think my work here is done.

That’s right, folks…stay off the streets, Little Nicky Hogan is a free, uh, man. It seems that one hundred and sixty-six days is roughly equivalent to the life of his friend John:

Nick Hogan was released from Pinellas County Jail just after midnight Tuesday morning. We’re told he arrived back at his mom Linda’s house to a thumping party, replete with loud music and cops surveying the scene.

Nick pleaded no contest to a felony charge of reckless driving involving serious bodily injury back in May. He was sentenced to eight months but only served the aforementioned 166 days due to “good time” credit.

His best friend, John Graziano, remains hospitalized and will require medical care the rest of his life.

Because nothing says, “I’m sorry for putting my friend in a vegetative state,” like a window-rattling partay. Nick was met by his sister Brooke, who was her usual understated, classy self. Again, nothing shows the true concept of “Redemption” as much as a lovely tattoo right above your buttcrack.

Seaking of Brooke, she took to the interwebs again and blogged about the upcoming reunion on her MySpace:

Hey you guys…as you all know, my brothers gettin out tomorrow…I cant even tell you, as a sister, how exciting this is for me! Nick and I are like best friends…and i cant believe how long Ive gone without him…. Not seeing him for 6 months has been really really hard. He always knows how to make me feel better or make me smile when I need it, and its been tough without having him there to hug me just at the right time, or crack a joke when im havin a bad day.

There have been a lot of supporters and a lot of haters that have come up to me and said things that have helped and things that made me feel like I couldn’t make it through another day… Some people wish terrible terrible things on us and say the the most nasty comments that I can’t even repeat on here… It really hurts. I understand people have their own opinion, but most of the people that come up to us don’t know the whole story, or how much we really really love John. Its really sad, because were not bad people….were just going through a really hard time, and so is John’s family. I feel sorry for the people who are misinformed because all they have to go off of is the media, which lets just face it, is NEVER a reliable source. Even the news, when that should be the most accurate…its probably the most far off. I didn’t come on here to vent, and I know this still wont change peoples opinion or what they think about my family. But I know that you never really know, until you actually walk in someones shoes. And that goes in all directions. All I ask, is instead of making this harder, and putting evil things out there, you pray for John and for us, and leave words of inspiration. I know- like I know -like I know- John is gonna walk out of that hospital and things will be ok again. I know his strength and I know he can do it with our prayers…… To all the people who have been supportive- It has helped MORE than you will ever know. I can not thank you enough…..Please pray for my brothers safety too… this is a really tough time he has gone through and I know all he wants to do is show you, John and his family how much he cares and understands.

ok. Back to the happy stuff! …….I just can’t wait to see my Nicky! Im gonna make him every kind of food you can possibly think of! Hes been living on bread an potatoes so far and I know some mac’n'cheese is gonna hit the spot! LOL Thanks so much for listening and keep praying! Every day will be better and better and better. God bless you! Have a safe day!

God gives us intelligence and expects us to use it. Barring a total, miraculous, divine reconstruction of John’s head and brain, there is no way John is going to walk out of the hospital, and no amount of “positive thinking” or “positive confession” is going to change that. I believe in the miraculous power of God, but I also know real reality when I see it. It isn’t enough to live in denial and whitewash it as ”faith”.

All anyone has ever wanted is for Nick and his family to accept responsibility and show even a little bit of remorse for what they’ve done. So far, all we’ve got have been failed attempts at blame-shifting and a very definite refusal of the Hogans to accept the reality of what they’ve done.

And let’s not forget that real-ality show Nick has been talking about to his father. What was it he wanted to title it, The New Nick?

NICK: Will you work on that real-ality [?] deal… [he pronounces it "real allity"]

TERRY: Yeah.

NICK: …for me and get that thing lined up, so the minute I walk out of wherever I walk out of, it’s there, boom?

NICK: It’ll be real-ality, how I’m getting back on my feet, and, uh, how I’m recovering after this, celebrity outta jail.

Wonder if he’s thought of a good name yet? I’m shooting for Meet The New Nick, Same As The Old Nick. Or maybe I Walked Away Because God Likes Me Better. Seriously, I wonder just how long it will take to get this all together.

But I still think we could get a new reality show out of this. It should feature a 27/7 camera aimed at John Graziano’s hospital room, showing the real reality of just what this family’s selfishness did.

However John Graziano, former Marine, remains in a hospital bed, where he will probably be for the rest of his life:

Nick’s being released from Pinellas County Jail on Oct. 21, three months short of the eight-month sentence he got for felony reckless driving. His early release is for good behavior.

Nick earned his release through a system of credits issued to each inmate:

This early release program is very typical and each inmates time served is controlled with a credit system. Upon entering the facility they are given credits and as long as they keep their nose clean they can put those credits towards early dismissal. So if you were thinking that Nicky was getting special treatment – think again.

Maybe if Nick had practiced good behavior BEFORE getting behind the wheel of a motorized bomb and driving like an idiot, he wouldn’t have been in jail to start with. Oh yeah, and his “friend” would not be in a vegetative state. But then, the concepts of personal responsibility and behaving properly aren’t exactly what the Hogan family is known for.

I wonder just how long it will take for Nicky Bollocks to get started on that real-ality show that he and his dad were talking about not so long ago? Remember that little conversation?

NICK: It’ll be real-ality, how I’m getting back on my feet, and, uh, how I’m recovering after this, celebrity outta jail.

I just can’t wait to see who ponies up millions of dollars to have the First! Exclusive! Interview! with Nick. Gee, wonder in who’s pockets that money will be going? But whatever will Nick say? After all, he’s been sitting in jail with nothing to think about.

Like I’ve said before, if this family shows even a bit of honest remorse for what happened, I’d be the first one to point it out. But so far all I’ve seen is excuses, whining, and attempts to make money. Hardly the acts of remorseful people. Hey, Nick, if you can work it into your busy Hollywood schedule to visit your buddy John, leave the Nerf gun at home, mkay?

And look…he got a new skateboard! Here we see mom Linda Bollea doing her best Donatella Versace imitation while bringing Nick his birfday present.

In other brithday news, Nick got to transfer out of juvie and into the adult section:

Bollea turned 18 Sunday, and he was transferred from a juvenile housing area of the jail, to a direct supervision area with other adult men.

“I’m sure he’s going to blend in fine. Nick is a likeable guy and I think he’ll end up making friends and getting through the rest of this just fine,” said Linda Bollea, who showed up to wish her son happy birthday.

She brought him a skateboard she had to take back with her when she left. “He’s been looking at this skateboard for a long time so I finally got it for him,” Linda Bollea explained.

Maybe he can use it when he gets out and goes to visit John Graziano in the hospital. It makes Nerf tag so much more fun!

Daddy Hulkster explained that his son is doing great and doing his thing:

The Hulk said his son has a new perspective on life, “He’s very grateful, which is the highest frequency to be vibin’ on. He’s very present which means he’s walking in the spirit of Christ.”

Uh, yeah. For more on that whole high vibin’ thing, click here.

I sincerely hope Nick and the whole Hogan family has learned something from all this, but I seriously doubt it. See the entire GlossLip coverage of the Hogans here. And boycott any show the Hogans are involved with.

“k” has been called away once more, leaving me to attempt to fill her shoes on the whole Hulk Hogan/Terry Bollea/Nick Hogan/John Graziano car crash he said/he said debacle, so bear with me as we attempt to update you.

When we last discussed this story, k eloquently and painstakingly laid out all the facts before you. Nick Hogan/Bollea drank alcohol which was likely purchased and provided by his father Terry/Hulk. Nick then got behind the wheel of his yellow Toyota Supra also purchased by his father. Nick put on his seat belt, but apparently didn’t insist on his passenger wearing one. Nick then raced down a residential street at rates stated to be close to 100mph. Nick then lost control of his vehicle and hit a palm tree.

Nick walked away from the accident with scratches, John on the other hand, is in what appears to be a permanent coma-like state, with a large portion of his front skull missing and his frontal lobe caved in. It is likely he will never regain consciousness and certainly NEVER walk again. For all intents and purposes, John is a vegetable. Even more ironic is John escaped TWO tours of duty in Iraq only to come home and become a victim of drunken, reckless driving at the hands of his supposed “best friend.”

After much media manipulation and efforts to sway the public opinion in their favor, Nick was ultimately sentenced to 8 months in county jail. Then audio tapes of Nick and his father scheming to make money off of Nick’s “misfortune” were released, including statements where Hulk suggested John was asking for it karmically, and that God was dishing out his punishment for John being a “negative” person (which apparently refers to the fact that John “yelled” a lot before he was so severely injured.)

Hulk Hogan then went on the defensive by doing the Larry King Show and tried to make excuses for his completely inappropriate behavior and once again tried to paint Nick as the victim because his privacy was invaded when the tapes were released to the public. In the meantime, Nick appealed to the courts to allow him to serve some of his time at home because he’s under 18 and was being mistreated by being confined to solitary confinement. His appeal was declined, but he was moved to a cell with other juveniles. Hmmmm….I am curious how that’s working.

Nick, through his actions and words, has made it clear he is NOT remorseful for his actions and doesn’t seem to grasp the gravity of the situation he created when he recklessly crashed his car. Nick even stated to the media that John was fine, except for hitting his head. Click here for images of his “bump to the head.” WARNING, image is very upsetting and graphic.

Now, to make matters worse, we have the Hogan/Bollea family, working through their good buddy Sirius radio DJ Bubba the Lovesponge, who leaked messages left by John Graziano’s older half-brother Frank Caruso. The messages (click here to listen) are needless to say, threatening, graphic, and entirely inappropriate, but hardly unexpected. John’s family are known for being shall we say “rough” and considering the kinds of things they’ve had to deal with in the media, it’s shocking this is the first incident.

That said, it doesn’t help John in anyway to have his family stoop to the level of the Hogan/Bollea family. If they were smart, they’d stay quietly behind the scenes, let Nick and family hang themselves with their twisted, unremorseful words and hit them where it really hurts the Bollea’s — their wallet. I would sue Hulk and crew for every last penny and pocket lint they had.

Here’s Glosslip’s entire coverage of this story from the beginning.

This whole situation has gone from ugly to apocalyptic. Btw, Nancy Grace is a crazy biznatch, but I love her over-the-top, Oscar-worthy b.s. Nancy’s my hero, when I grow up I want to be just like her!

Of course he wants to go home. Jail is, like, boring and stuff.

Nick Hogan Bollea Whatever had his lawyers file a motion asking to serve part of his sentence at home until he turns eighteen next month:

Kevin Hayslett, Bollea’s attorney, said his 17-year-old client is being kept in solitary confinement in the jail’s medical ward because he is not old enough to join the general population.

Hayslett filed the motion for reconsideration and plans to ask the judge to consider placing Bollea under house arrest until he turns 18 on July 27.

Bollea pleaded no contest to a charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury last month. He was sentenced to eight months in jail.

Is the poor widdle baby lonely in his cell that is smaller than his bathroom? Pardon me while I don’t cry. His lawyer is actually asking that Nick be put on house arrest…have you seen the Hogan house? And Nick thinks it will be better in the general population?

Let’s stop and take a look at what the Hogan family has said about John, Nick, the reality show, the accident, and this whole sordid mess in general, shall we? Maybe we can see what the Hogans want us to believe…and then, after we sort through all the crap, we can jolt ourselves back to reality with something that brought me to tears and puts all of this into perspective. I know it’s long, but keep reading, please.

Hulkster, on how Nick should spend his time in jail (you know, when he’s supposed to be thinking about what put him there):

That’s, that’s just like a temporary vibe, y’know, that’s like you’re evading all those low vibes of worry and doubt and fear but you’re, before you became present, you know how you’re always worried and doubtful and fearful and all that? [...]

Where that’s your normal state? Well, all of a sudden, that temporary high vibe that you get-[t]hat’s just a glimpse of your next stage, where you’re gonna be all the time. Y’know what I mean? God is tellin’ ya that high vibe you felt when you woke up this morning and said you’re still livein’ [not a typo: rhymes with “jivin’”]? That’s who you really are and that’s where you’re gonna go.

Nick and Hulk on why John is in the hospital (hint, it has nothing to do with Nick’s reckless driving):

TERRY (Hulk Hogan): Well, I don’t know what type of person John was or what he did to get himself in a situation…I know he was pretty aggressive and he used to yell at people and he used to do stuff, and…but some, some, for some reason, man, God laid some heavy sh*t on that kid, man. I don’t know what he was into, I…

NICK:Â John was a negative person.

TERRY:Â He was what?

NICK:Â He was a negative person.

Nick and Hulk on how they are going to turn this whole situation around and make some dough off it:

NICK: Will you work on that real-ality [?] deal… [he pronounces it “real allity”]

TERRY:Â Yeah.

NICK: …for me and get that thing lined up, so the minute I walk out of wherever I walk out of, it’s there, boom?

TERRY: Can you do it while you’re on probation?

NICK:Â Yeah, of course.

TERRY: Yeah. Okay…you wanna do it with Pink Snickers [?] or you wanna do it with someone else?

NICK: I wanna do it where I’ll make the most money. [...] It’ll be real-ality, how I’m getting back on my feet, and, uh, how I’m recovering after this, celebrity outta jail.

Nick, to the court on how he thinks about John every day:

During the hearing, Bollea apologized to Graziano’s family and told them he missed John, whom he regarded as his best friend and older brother.

“No matter what has been said, every day I think about John,” said Bollea. “There will never be a day I forget about this.”

Nick, to his mommy, talking about how there’s “nothing to think about” in jail:

Nick Bollea: “Had I known this, I would have rather gone to trial or I would rather, you know, appeal the case or something. I can’t deal with this for eight months. It’s (Bollea’s cell) like the size of my bathroom.”

Linda Bollea: “Oh!”

Nick: “No windows or nothing. Just one little top bed thing.”

Linda: “Oh my God!” […]

Nick: “All you do is sit there and think, and there’s nothing to think about.”

Hulk, on playing the media and his not-so-real reality show and how he tried to warn everyone, but would they listen? Nooooooo:

“Basically they were trying to put their best foot forward and fake a public image of unity and support for their son,” our insider said. “He [Hulk] is a very astute businessman and very good at playing the media — he even admitted in court that their reality show was scripted and not so real after all.” [...]

“We saw the Ashlee Simpson show and Jessica Simpson’s and Lindsay Lohan on the big screen and we just didn’t haven’t a vehicle to compete,” [Hulk] said. “But I considered it, because this time it was about the Hogan family rather than Hulk Hogan; they all wanted to do it and I tried to warn them about what they were in for. Now look what happened.”

Linda, on street racing:

Her answer: “Oh, I love it. I love it. The rush, the speed on the road, stereo blasting, heart-pounding, racing in between all the cars, dodging the cops. It’s awesome.”

Nick, on John, shortly after the accident:

“john is expected to make a full recovery its just a slow process for him to wake up because he was in a medically induced coma by a drug called pentabarb which takes weeks to wear off which is why the wake up process is is so slow. his entire body is perfect , he just hit his head.”

Hulk, on how unfair it is that people were trying to hold his son responsible for his actions:

“It’s just so unfair,” added Hogan. “Just the way the media jumped on my son and just the way they portrayed him. From my gut, it’s something that has torn two families apart, and we’re just so close to John’s family. “

Hulk, on Nick, John, and what happened:

“I’m trying to tell my son to stay strong, because at the end of the day, when all the facts are in, it was an accident,” he said. [...]

“[Nick’s] going to be okay. John’s going to be okay, and if things keep going the way they’re going…Nick and I are going to walk John right out of that hospital,” he said.

I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea…at least, I hope you do.

Many people have taken me to task, saying that I am being too rough on Nick. After all, John Graziano was an adult, and he should have known to put on his seat belt. I totally agree with that. I’m not trying to paint John as some sort of angel, strong-armed into the car against his will. He and Nick and their buddies were known to be fast and reckless drivers. But we don’t know under what circumstances John didn’t have his belt on, or IF he didn’t have it on. Perhaps he had it on at the start of the drive and took it off for some reason. Maybe he dropped something and took it off to pick it up, and it was at that moment the accident happened. Maybe he just didn’t put it on because he didn’t want to. Maybe he did have it on and Nick is lying. The thing is…it is the DRIVER’S RESPONSIBILITY to make sure all passengers are properly secured before starting to drive. Nick should have insisted on John’s wearing his belt, if he wasn’t already wearing it…but maybe Nick was too drunk to notice anything.

EDITED TO ADD:Â According to the police report, John was not wearing his seat belt, as evidenced by an EMT.

People have also said John shouldn’t have gotten into the car with an underage driver who had been drinking (alcohol was found in his system after the crash). Again, true. Perhaps John didn’t know Nick had been drinking, or maybe he knew but thought Nick could handle it. Not the best judgement on John’s part, but hardly a reason to excuse Nick’s behavior. The bottom line is that we don’t know for sure, because Nick hasn’t said and John can’t.

So while John made bad decisions that fateful day, ultimately it was Nick who caused the accident. It was Nick who drove recklessly. It was Nick who drank underage and then got behind the wheel. It was Nick who didn’t make sure his passenger was belted up. It was Nick who MADE THE DECISION to do all these things. Absolutely nothing John Graziano did or did not do excuses Nick’s behavior before, during, and after the crash. Had Nick been traveling the speed limit, chances are both people would have walked away…chances are there wouldn’t have been an accident at all. What was John supposed to do…grab the wheel at 100+ MPH? Jump out of a speeding car? Hit the imaginary brake?

A judge put Nick in jail for a while, and he is supposed to be thinking about all the things that brought him to this point in his life. However, it has been made abundantly clear that all Nick can think about is himself, and the sperm donor (otherwise known as his father) and incubator (otherwise known as his mother) are enabling his behavior. Nick has never been taught things like personal responsibility and atonement and obeying the law…but, he is of an age and has lived enough, even at almost eighteen, to know that such things do exist and that others must abide by them. Knowing this, he purposefully chose not to play by the rules.

But so we are clear…I believe time spent in jail is not supposed to be about revenge, but about punishment and then repentance, and about deciding to not repeat what got you there and trying to atone for one’s mistakes. However, so far all Nick can do is blame everyone else INCLUDING John, slam John and think about how he’s going to make money off this when he gets out. There needs to be a lot more growing up…unfortunately, with parents like these, I’m not sure that will happen. And that definitely won’t happen if a judge puts him under house arrest…that’s like punishing Hugh Hefner by sending him to an adult bookstore. Nick has to understand what he did before he can take any steps towards growing up, but I hope some day it happens.

All that, to get to this. Nick said in an earlier interview that John’s body was perfect, he “just hit his head”. Here is the medical definition of “hit his head”:

In her report, [court-appointed nurse] Jones detailed the injuries Graziano sustained during the wreck. He broke his skull at the base, had part of his skull cut out, experienced brain swelling and had cuts to the scalp. Bone was pushed in and broken in many pieces. He had abnormal collections of blood under the front side of the skull.

And Hulk Hogan said this in an interview:

“The most important thing to me was from all the eyewitnesses and everyone that was there and saw it was that they were not racing,” the former pro-wrestling superstar told The Insider.

The most important thing. The most important thing.

When I started driving, my father took me aside and told me something I have never forgotten and which brings tears to my eyes even now, twenty-some years later. He told me, “You can replace cars, but there’s only one you, and I can never replace you.” I’m sure that is how the Graziano family feels, but to Hulk…the most important thing is that people understand that his son was “not racing”.

So, with that…I found a photo of John Graziano. Not as the young and strong Marine he was, but as a shell of himself, as he exists today. Nick knows what he looks like, because he has seen him. Hulk and Linda have as well. And they can still say horrible things.

This is what the permissiveness of the Hogan family and the irresponsibility of Nick did. This is the condition John Graziano lay in as Nick played Nerf tag in the halls. This is what Nick can’t manage to remember to think about. This is the permanent cell John lays in, while Nick tries to whine and wheedle his way out of the temporary one. This puts all of the crap, the junk, the craziness that the Hogans are trying to pawn off on us into perspective.

I am your anonymous, Hogans. I do not forget.

I AM WARNING YOU NOW, THIS PHOTO IS VERY GRAPHIC AND EXTREMELY UPSETTING. DO NOT CLICK THROUGH IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED OR IF THIS WILL DISTURB YOU. I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED; DO NOT COMMENT ON THE GRAPHIC NATURE OF THE PHOTO AS IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN.

This is what Nick and Hulk said God did to John, because John deserved it.

In my last post on Nick Bollea Hogan Whatever, a reader named “squishers” left a comment talking about the latest recording of Nick and his father to hit the internets, and that got me wondering just what was on it. I went over to TMZ and took a listen, and let me tell you…I am more than outraged, I am literally sickened by the audacity and arrogance and irresponsibility and self-centeredness of these two.

Here is the transcript of that call:

TERRY (Hulk Hogan): Well, I don’t know what type of person John was or what he did to get himself in a situation…I know he was pretty aggressive and he used to yell at people and he used to do stuff, and…but some, some, for some reason, man, God laid some heavy sh*t on that kid, man. I don’t know what he was into, I…

NICK:Â John was a negative person.

TERRY:Â He was what?

NICK:Â He was a negative person.

Here, there is a break in the recording, and then you hear them pick up a conversation about what I assume is a new reality show featuring Nick and his life after jail time:

NICK:Â Will you work on that real-ality [?] deal…Â [he pronounces it "real allity"]

TERRY:Â Yeah.

NICK: …for me and get that thing lined up, so the minute I walk out of wherever I walk out of, it’s there, boom?

TERRY:Â Can you do it while you’re on probation?

NICK:Â Yeah, of course.

TERRY: Yeah. Okay…you wanna do it with Pink Snickers [?] or you wanna do it with someone else?

NICK:Â I wanna do it where I’ll make the most money.

TERRY:Â Well then, you need to do it with me, Jason, and Eric.

NICK:Â Okay.

TERRY:Â You know if I’m producing the show I won’t screw you, you know that.

NICK: Yeah. Of course.

TERRY:Â I’ll getcha every–I’ll make you an owner.

NICK: Yeah. I…

TERRY:Â You’ll own the show.

NICK:Â Yeah.

TERRY: Y’know. So let me get to work on that with Eric tonight, he’s here too.

NICK:Â Okay, cool.

TERRY:Â So dude, we can get that pulled off, dude…

NICK:Â Real-ality.

TERRY:Â The new Nick, we’ll call it “The New Nick” or something.

NICK:Â The New Nick.

TERRY: Or something. We’ll have to come up with a good name. Think of a good name.

NICK:Â I’ll be thinking of a good name.

TERRY:Â The, the…

NICK:Â It’ll be real-ality, how I’m getting back on my feet, and, uh, how I’m recovering after this, celebrity outta jail.

Let’s revisit some of the things the Hogan family have said in the past, shall we? Then we can compare and contrast what they said in public, versus what they said in private.

Here is what has been said about John Graziano by the Hulkster:

[Hulk] Hogan said John was practically a member of the family, celebrating birthdays and going on vacation with the Bolleas. John was 17 when he met Nick Bollea and the two became fast friends. John went on to join the Marines and serve in Iraq. He had only recently returned home.

By BFF Nick:

During the hearing, Bollea apologized to Graziano’s family and told them he missed John, whom he regarded as his best friend and older brother.

“No matter what has been said, every day I think about John,” said Bollea. “There will never be a day I forget about this.”

And again by Nick:

Bollea apologized for the accident, saying he prayed for Graziano every day. “I love John to death,” he said. “He is like my older brother and my best friend.”

And here is what Hulk Hogan said about the “reality” of reality television:

“I was offered lots of [reality] shows when I was making my career comeback against The Rock, but I kept saying no. But years later, it was my daughter’s career and son’s racing career that we were thinking about.

“We saw the Ashlee Simpson show and Jessica Simpson’s and Lindsay Lohan on the big screen and we just didn’t haven’t a vehicle to compete,” he said. “But I considered it, because this time it was about the Hogan family rather than Hulk Hogan; they all wanted to do it and I tried to warn them about what they were in for. Now look what happened.”

Plus Hulk said this, again about “reality” television:

He said the public misunderstands his son because his personality is not what was portrayed on the family’s reality television show, which Hogan said was scripted. Hogan said his son would be sitting at his computer and show producers would ask him to throw water balloons. “Nick is a good person,” Hogan said. “He’s kind. He’s gentle. He’s compassionate.”

So let’s review. Terry and Nick believe that John Graziano was a negative person who did some bad things, and for whatever reason they have decided God punished John for those things. They’re also putting together some sort of reality thing for Nick after he’s sprung from the pokey, apparently to try and repair his image. Hulk and Nick believe God caused the accident involving both Nick and John because John was a bad person and somehow had to be punished for those past actions, and Nick was just an innocent tool in the process.

Let me say this…I firmly believe that what happened to John had nothing to do with God. My Pastor says that often God gets blamed for things He had nothing to do with, because there are certain things that happen because of our own bad decisions. And yes…John did make a very bad decision when he decided to get into that car with a teenage boy who had been engaging in underage drinking that day and who had a reputation for street racing. I’m not here to say that John is some sort of blameless angel who was somehow strongarmed into the car against his will.

But for Terry and Nick to say that John somehow brought this on himself because of his past actions or lifestyle is beyond reprehensible and it shows a complete and utter disregard for the seriousness of the accident and the responsibility both Nick and his so-called ”father” need to shoulder in it. They aren’t worried about John or about helping him…they are worried about their reputation and about covering their own butts.

Plus, if Terry and Nick are putting together some sort of reality show…well, what makes them think we will believe anything that is in it? After all, by Terry’s own admission, reality shows are not real, but scripted and contrived. So why should we believe that anything these two could put together would be “real”? Because they say so? Forgive me for doubting anything that comes out of their mouths.

I wanted so badly to believe that Nick would use this time in jail to grow up, to learn what it really is to take responsibility, to think about what he did and take steps to not let something like this happen again. But I now seriously have my doubts. If Nick had shown true remorse in these calls, I would be the first one in his corner saying we need to give him a chance to redeem himself. But he hasn’t shown that he is interested in anything but himself.

You know what, Nick? You will, at some point, walk out of jail. You will, at some point, get back on your feet. You will, at some point, recover. But at no point will John Graziano, former Marine, professed best friend, ever recover. He will never get back on his feet. He will remain imprisoned forever in the jail of his own body. A jail YOU put him in by YOUR irresponsible actions.

Maybe you should think about that while you sit in jail with “nothing to think about.”

I am your anonymous, Hogans. I do not forget.

Nick Bollea (I’m not going to call him Nick Hogan in this article, since that isn’t his real name) was in court today and the judge handed down sentencing:

Nick Hogan threw himself at the mercy of the judge today in Clearwater, FL in his felony reckless driving case — and he got just a lil’ bit. Hogan was sentenced to eight months in jail, five years’ probation and 500 hours community service, and the judge yanked his license for three years.

The judge also said no drinking for three years…and he also pointed out that not only is Nick underage but he will still be so once the three years is up. He is also to spend one full day in “some positive framework” every month. Not quite sure what that means, but it can’t be a bad thing.

During today’s proceedings, Nick spoke about John Graziano, the former Marine who is now in an almost vegetative state after the horrific accident:

During the hearing, Bollea apologized to Graziano’s family and told them he missed John, whom he regarded as his best friend and older brother.

“No matter what has been said, every day I think about John,” said Bollea. “There will never be a day I forget about this.”

His father Terry (Hulk Hogan) also offered testimony:

Hogan, also known as Terry Bollea, also testified, and said he hoped his son wouldn’t be unfairly punished because of his celebrity status.

“Our whole family will never give up on John,” Hogan said. “And we hope everyone else won’t give up on Nick.”

Hogan said John was practically a member of the family, celebrating birthdays and going on vacation with the Bolleas. John was 17 when he met Nick Bollea and the two became fast friends. John went on to join the Marines and serve in Iraq. He had only recently returned home.

Hogan said his son was devastated by the wreck.

“Being Nick’s father, I’ve noticed a change in his demeanor,” Hogan said. “He’s done a lot of growing up in the last 18 months.”

He also said that Nick is not as he has been portrayed on their “reality” show:

Dressed all in black, including a scarf on his head, Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, urged the judge not to make his son a convicted felon. His plea: Withhold adjudication.

“My son has really, deeply been affected by what occurred in this accident,” Hogan said. “What I don’t want to see happen is another tragedy. Nick is going to have to live with this experience the rest of his life.”

The Graziano family spoke of their own observations of Nick, which differ from those recalled by his father:

[Members]Â of the Graziano family told the judge that Nick Bollea never showed any remorse after the crash that left John Graziano in a semi-conscious state.

John’s father, Ed Graziano, said Bollea displayed senseless, reckless behavior when visiting John at Bayfront Medical Center in the days after the accident. He said Bollea, 17, would skateboard down the halls shooting a dart gun while at the hospital.

“What Al-Quaeda couldn’t do to my son, (Bollea) did,” Ed Graziano said.

They also spoke about John, who is showing a few signs of improvement, but who will never be even close to the man he once was:

Graziano is currently at James A. Haley Medical Center. He is likely to need lifelong care. A guardian has filed a civil suit against the Bolleas on Graziano’s behalf to help pay for his care.

Graziano’s sister, Christin Carson, said she still picks up the phone to call her brother before remembering his condition.

“To see a Marine reduced to a state in which his mother has to bathe him is almost too much to bear,” said Carson, choking back tears.

His mother, Debbie Graziano, said she jumps with excitement when John’s eyes move or he squeezes her hand.

“I pray for a miracle, but the doctors tell me he’ll never be John again,” she said.

“I don’t know how I’m going to live through this, missing my son,” Debbie Graziano added. “It’s excruciating.”

And the judge took all these factors into consideration when handing down his sentence:

Circuit Judge Philip Federico said he hopes Bollea, 17, the son of famous wrestler Hulk Hogan, will do “everything you can do to make up for this.” He also withheld adjudication, which means Bollea will not have a felony record.

The sentence is intended to both punish Bollea and give him a chance to redeem himself, Federico said.

In addition, Bollea’s drivers license was revoked for three years, and he must pay $6,500 to the Clearwater Police Department and $450 in court fees. [...]

Bollea’s attorneys began the hearing by telling Federico they wouldn’t fight the charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury, a third-degree felony, if the judge agreed to cap his sentence at one year in jail.

The charge stems from Bollea’s role in an Aug. 26 car crash that left his friend and passenger, John Graziano, in critical condition.

Attorney J. Kevin Hayslett said Bollea would plead no contest if his sentence wouldn’t exceed more than one year in jail and five years probation.

“Nick’s been very clear he wanted to resolve this today,” Hayslett said.

He also wanted to make sure everyone, including Nick and his father, understood that this was no accident:

Rosenwasser noted that the defendant’s father wrote the court, saying the crash was an accident. The prosecutor said he wanted Bollea to understand that was not the case. The prosecutor said Bollea made the choice to drive the way he did on a wet road. “I want him to understand that it’s his fault. This crash was his fault and only his fault.” [emphasis mine]

That is the crux of the matter…he must learn to accept the consequences of his actions. Part of this is the sentence handed down by the court today, the jail time and the probation and the taking away of his license. He must learn that every action has a consequence, whether that be good or bad, favorable or unfavorable, easy or hard. Most of us learned this very basic lesson as children…unfortunately, there are so many (far too many) for whom this is a foreign concept, the idea of taking responsibility for one’s actions and atoning for them when we have been wrong.

I think that, perhaps, Nick is learning. Slowly but surely, he is learning. While I’ve been as hard on him as anyone (and I think the sentence could have been more), I do remember that he is seventeen years old. That’s just one year older than my own son, and I can’t imagine him doing something on the scale of this horrible accident, one that almost cost a man his life. I am not sure if Nick has completely grasped the reality of what happened, and the consequences of that, but he is going to have the next eight months to really think about what he did.

I, for one, hope that he comes out of this experience a stronger and wiser young man. I hope that the time spent in jail will not be wasted time, but rather time spent in reflection and repentance. Unfortunately, when he comes out, he will have the same set of parents and the same opulent lifestyle he had when he went in…the same parents and the same lifestyle which allowed and even condoned the idea that he was somehow above the laws which govern the “little people” (you know, laws like not drinking underage, not drinking and driving, not racing on city streets, stuff like that).

Personally, I believe that his parents should also be punished in some way, although some would argue that they are because it will undoubtedly be them who pay his fines and legal costs. The money they must shell out, however, is a drop in the bucket to them. I believe that they too should have to serve community service alongside their son, since it was their lax and indulgent parenting which was a contributing factor in this whole mess (if you don’t believe me, read this and watch the video in this link). Yes, he should have known better…but his parents should have stepped in years ago and been true parents. Yes, John should have known better than to get in the car…but had Nick not been drinking and racing, there would not have been a choice to make. A passenger cannot stop the driver of a car, especially at the speeds they were traveling that night.

But one thing I have learned is that punishment should not last forever. At some point, there is a time when the punishment should end, or it accomplishes nothing.  Hopefully Nick will come out of this realizing, truly realizing, that what he did changed a young man’s life forever, and that everything he does has repercussions, and that he becomes truly sorry for the pain and hurt he has caused, and that he should fully accept responsibility for what he did (not just paying it lip service). I would also say that he needs to get as far away from his so-called “family” as he can (I would call them at best enablers, at worst aiders and abettors), although that might be too much to wish for.

Nick has been handed a wonderful opportunity, if he will just realize it for what it is. He has a chance to grow up, a chance to realize what has happened, a chance to atone in some small way for the actions of that fateful night. While nothing will make John Graziano the man he once was, and while nothing will change what happened, taking responsibility and trying to change are huge steps in the right direction. After all, sentencing is not for revenge, but for punishment and then (hopefully) learning and maturing and cultivating within the person a sincere desire to not repeat the mistake.

If he truly understands all of this (and I personally don’t believe that he truly does, not just yet), then he will also understand that he must live with this for the rest of his life. That is more than he can comprehend at the moment, considering his indulgent attitude, but he will learn that it is more sentence than any judge could hand down.

I sincerely hope that if there is any good to come out of this terrible event, it is that Nick, or anyone else thinking of doing something stupid, stops and thinks of John before they make a mistake that they will spend the rest of their days grieving over, and walk away from it. Both Nick and John exercised poor judgement that night. It is a horrible tragedy that John must spend his life not truly living…it would also be a tragedy if Nick (and, by extension, his family) continues to spend his time trying to deny his responsibility in this whole matter and end up not learning a thing.

A moment’s bad decision can lead to a life of regrets.

The mysterious “k” will be covering this story in more depth later, but I wanted to give a quick update on the Nick (Bollea) Hogan/John Graziano car accident trial.

TMZ, reporting live from the courtroom.

Nick is being given 5 years of probation, 500 hours of community service, had his license revoked for 3 years (until he’s 21) for his culpability in an accident which left his friend John (an Iraq-war veteran) in a coma-like state.

Nick is being handled ever so lightly. Unbelievable. What about the booze that was in his system provided by his father Hulk Hogan earlier in the day?

Nick stares blankly at the judge, revealing the dumbass lurking behind his eyes. This Judge is really playing for the cameras, shut the F up and get on with it. Who do you think you are, Judge Ito?
Everybody wants to be a star.

Judge reading from Nick’s letter to the court. Nick wants to make up for his mistake.

*rolls eyes* Read Glosslip’s coverage for context to my disbelief on his sincerity.

Judge says Nick had a cavalier attitude towards his driving responsibility, but believes Nick is being sincere in his apologies, but that doesn’t take away the pain from John’s life being destroyed, and his family being heartbroken. Judge is going to incarcerate Nick. Here it comes: 8 months in the Pinellas County Jail.

Well, there you have it. That judge was MORE than fair considering the history of recklessness from this family.
